When high school German teacher Jon Nakamatsu won the Gold Medal at the 1997 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, his life changed forever. Two years later he played at the White House for the Clintons. Since then he has toured the world as soloist and as chamber musician. He recently played for the Beijing International Piano festival, and he frequently tours with the Berlin Philharmonic Wind Quintet. He is a favorite with Rogue Valley audiences having appeared with the RV Symphony several times.
